Tucci Di Lusso, maker of luxury leather shoes and accessories, was one of the small businesses that won a holiday co-marketing boost with Affirm in our Merchant Holiday contest. Founded by Tochukwu Mbiamnozie, who immigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria, Tucci Di Lusso sells unique leather goods that are hand-crafted by European artisans with an “eye toward uncompromising beauty and attention to detail.” 

We briefly caught up with Mbiamnozie after the holidays, and here’s an edited version of our Q&A:

Affirm: Your small business won a $25,000 holiday marketing boost from Affirm. What can you tell us about the results?

Tochukwu Mbiamnozie: The marketing has helped to create brand awareness for my new business Tucci Di Lusso Inc., and it also brought referral customers to my business who are happy to patronize me using Affirm's pay-over-time feature. Being recommended by Affirm as a merchant creates more trust—that was a great benefit from the marketing campaign. I highly recommend Affirm to other merchants who have yet to take advantage of the payment features Affirm offers.

Why did you choose Affirm and how was the process of implementing it for your site?

I chose Affirm among others because Affirm provided a better option for my business by financing my customers’ orders. Affirm also powers the option for 4 interest-free installments through Shop Pay Installments, which helped to increase order value. Also, Affirm did not put a cap on the amount we can process through them, compared to other services I tried. It was at that point that I researched and found Affirm. 

I applied and was approved to use Shop Pay Installments with my Shopify store and then for the onsite integration with Affirm. The Affirm team was very helpful with implementing and adding all the codes and ensuring Affirm works perfectly for my both websites, www.tuccipolo.com and www.tuccidilusso.com. I'm happy that I chose Affirm.

What has surprised you about the performance of Affirm, and how has it helped your business?

The performance of Affirm has been spectacular. A lot of my customers prefer to use Affirm monthly financing and some the 4-installment option via Shop Pay Installments, which has brought lots of customers to my business ever since I started using Affirm. It has boosted my revenue, and customers shop with confidence without having to pay the total for their order up front. 

I wish I was using Affirm 7 years ago when I first launched my business!
