Just provide some basic information to verify your identity and we can instantly approve you while you check out. Pay Later works across desktop and mobile browsers and is accepted as payment at an increasing number of online merchants.
1.3 How does Pay Later work?
Pay Later with Affirm is simple to use and you can check out in just a few taps. Just follow these three steps the first time you use Affirm:
- Fill your cart with your chosen items and tap the Affirm button on the merchant's checkout page to get started.
- Enter a few basic pieces of information to identify yourself. We'll make an instant decision on approving your purchase.
- Review your order and tap once more to charge it to your Affirm account. Your items will be on their way soon!

We created Affirm to make buying easy, fast, and safe. We charge merchants a small fee to provide this premium service for their customers, but we do not charge buyers a fee for purchasing.
2. How Affirm Works
2.1. How do I sign up for Affirm?
You can sign up for Affirm in two ways:
- Visit us online at www.affirm.com/u. Enter your phone number, click OK, and follow the prompts.
- Tap or click the "Pay Later with Affirm" button when you see it on the website of a merchant that accepts Affirm. If you haven't logged into Affirm before, just follow the brief signup steps.
2.2. Who's eligible to use Affirm?
Any U.S. resident 18 years or older is welcome to use Affirm.
2.3 What information do you ask for and why?
We create your account using your name, mobile phone number, birthday and last 4 digits of social security. This combination lets us know you are who you say you are and allows us to contact you. Sometimes, we need to ask for email or other identifying information to make sure we have the right person.
2.4 Is my information secure?
Yes. We're a team of security experts, with years of experience in payments and security. Security is a central focus for us at Affirm and we use the latest encryption technologies to ensure our systems - and your data - are protected.
2.5. Is a mobile phone number required to use Affirm?
For your security, we require a valid mobile number to use Affirm.
2.6 Why don’t I have a username to log in with?
With Affirm, your mobile phone number is your user name. For your protection, we verify that the mobile phone number is yours before you can make a charge using Affirm. Whenever you want to log in again, we'll send a one time security pin to your phone so you don't have to remember a password.
2.7 Do you charge any fees or interest?
Affirm does not charge interest and there are no fees if you pay your bills on time. If you need more time to pay your bill, there is a simple $5 late fee (CA and FL only). How can we do this? We charge merchants a small fee to provide Affirm as a service for their customers, so we don't have to charge you any fees.
2.8 Are there any hidden costs?
There are no fees or hidden costs to use Affirm to pay for your online purchases. We created Affirm to make online buying easy, fast, and secure. We charge merchants a small fee to provide this premium service for their customers, but we never charge buyers a fee for purchasing.
3. Paying Your Affirm Balance
3.1 How do I pay for my purchase?
You can pay your Affirm bills online at www.affirm.com/pay. We accept payment by credit card, debit card, ACH bank transfer and check.
3.2 What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit or debit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club through our website. We also accept ACH bank transfers through our website. To pay by check, please write your Affirm account number (your mobile phone number) on the check. Make it payable to "Affirm, Inc." and mail it to:

3.3 How long do I have to pay my Affirm bill?
Whenever you charge an purchase to Affirm we will clearly state the due date for your payment on the confirmation page. Depending on the merchant and type of offer this could be 30,45,60 or 90 days from your purchase. You can always check on the due dates for your charges by signing in to your account at www.affirm.com/u.
3.4 What happens if I don't pay my bill?
We hope that all of our users honor their purchases with Affirm. Please understand that when you make a purchase through Affirm, you are entering into a legal obligation to repay the balance for each purchase. This is no different from other agreements to repay people or businesses for goods and services.

3.5 What if I need more time to pay my bill?
We understand - sometimes things happen, and you might find yourself in a financial bind. We are here to help and we don't believe in punitive fees and compounding interest. If you need more time to pay your bill, there is just a simple $5 late fee (CA and FL only). Don't hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we'll work with you on creating a plan to repay your balance.
3.6 I do not agree with the amount on my bill. What should I do?
4 Your Account
4.1 How do I review the status of previous charges, payments, or find out when my bill is due?
Sign in to www.affirm.com/login to review your charge history including details items you have purchased, where you purchased from and where you have shipped items. You can also view check on your billing due dates and pay off your Affirm balance.
4.2 How do I update my account information?
For account update inquiries, please contact us at email@example.com.
4.3 Can I receive paper statements?
We don't send paper statements; instead your purchase confirmation email or SMS serves as your statement. We'll email this to you after your purchase is complete, and we'll send you a reminder message a few days before it's due.
4.4. How do I close my account?
We're sorry to see you go and hope you'll reconsider! If you wish to close your Affirm account, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that your account cannot be closed until any outstanding balance due has been paid in full.
In addition, if you happen to not log into your account within two years, we may close your account. But don't worry - we'll try to reach you beforehand.
5. Legal Info
At Affirm, we take your privacy very seriously. We'll never provide your information to anyone other than the merchant you're purchasing from. To that merchant, we only provide the necessary information about your purchase so that they can fulfill your order (such as your name and email address).
